Attached/linked please find And That’s The Week That Was…the Brounes & Associates market/economic commentary for the week ended November 23 2007.  Ready or not…here come the homestretch for 2007.  What looked to be a year of potentially double-digit gains for the equity indexes has suddenly turned into one in which investors hope their portfolios merely stay “in the black.” (Small-cap investors have their work cut out for them…interestingly enough, the Russell 2000 was up almost 6% at the end of the second quarter.)  With the news from the housing and financial sectors (et tu Freddie Mac?) seemingly more and more dire with each passing day, investors could sure use a little tonic in the form of a successful holiday shopping season (any chance for a rebound, Target?).  Well, the Friday after Thanksgiving is historically among the busiest days of the year so let’s hope consumers can show some resilience and help overcome all of the subprime negativity.  Happy Thanksgiving (despite the Texas Longhorn loss)!!!

Coming up in the week ahead:  Consumer Confidence (Tuesday), Existing Home Sales (Wednesday), GDP (Thursday), New Home Sales (Thursday), Personal Income/Spending (Friday)
